Shankar pali or shankar poli recipe explained with step by step pictures and a video. This is a wheat flour evening snacks recipe. Wheat flour shankar poli or shankar pali is prepared using wheat flour, sugar, ghee and salt. Shankar pali is also familiar by name shakkar pare or shakkar pali.

Shankar poli or shankar pali is a very tasty evening snacks. Kids will love this and it tastes like roasted rich cookies. Generally shankar pali is prepared using maida and here in this recipe, I have used wheat flour to make it healthy. Click on this link ff you are looking for Karnataka style thin, crispy shankar poli.

This recipe is very similar to badam puri, suruli puriand badusha (saat) recipes. Only the shapes are different. I have used 1/4 cup sugar in this recipe. You can reduce the sugar ad increase the salt to prepare salty snacks. Or mix some spices to prepare spicy snacks. Also I have used ghee in this, which you can replace it with oil. Or mix ghee and oil in equal proportions.

We used to buy this shankar pali from shops during our childhood. But I never knew the name or the recipe. Many days ago, I came across this recipe and tried it. After preparing my Son liked it so much that it got over in no time. So I started preparing it often.
