Milk peda or doodh peda is an easy sweet recipe. This milk peda is prepared using milk powder and condensed milk. I didn't know preparing pedas will be this easy. One day I happened to read this recipe in this facebook group. Since my son loves pedas, I tried them. And to my surprise they came out very well. So sharing the recipe here with step by step pictures. Prepare these easy milk peda or doodh peda and enjoy.

Easy milk peda recipe

Preparation time: 5 min
Cooking time: 30 min
Serves: 20 pedas

Ingredients: (measuring cup used = 240ml)

  1. 1.5 - 2 cup milk powder
  2. 1 tin sweetened condensed milk (400gm)
  3. 0.25 cup ghee or butter
  4. A big pinch of cardamom powder
  5. 0.25 cup nuts (optional)
  6. 0.25 cup dessicatd coconut (optional)

Instructions for making milk peda:

  1. Take nonstick pan and add in the milk powder.Milk powder for milk peda or doodh peda
  2. Add in condensed milk and give a quick stir. I used store bought sweetened condensed milk.condensed milk for milk peda or doodh peda
  3. Add in melted ghee or butter. If adding nuts or dessicated coconut then add them as well. Mix well.ghee or butter for milk peda or doodh peda
  4. Keep it on stove top. Keep stirring continuously under medium flame.stirring milk and milk powder for milk peda or doodh peda
  5. At one stage after about 7 - 8 minutes you can see the mixture starts leaving the bottom.making milk peda or doodh peda
  6. Add in cardamom powder, mix well and switch off the stove. Do not over cook it. Over cooking will turn pedas chewy. Transfer it to another bowl.cardamom powder for milk peda or doodh peda
  7. Wait till the peda mixture is warm. Take gooseberry sized peda mixture and shape it into pedas. If it is sticking to the palm and you are not able shape the pedas, that means it is slightly under cooked. Keep it on stove top again and stir it for 1 or 2 minutes more.shaping the milk peda or doodh peda
  8. Once the pedas are done, decorate it with nuts and rest it for 4 - 5 hours. If you taste it before resting time, it will be sticky.resting milk peda or doodh peda
