Carrot halwa recipe

Preparation time: 10 min
Cooking time: 30 min
Serves: 2

Ingredients: (measuring cup used = 240ml)

  1. 2 cup grated carrot or 4 medium sized carrot
  2. 1 cup milk
  3. 1/2 cup sugar (adjust as per your taste)
  4. 2 tbsp ghee
  5. 1 tbsp cashews
  6. 1 tbsp raisins
  7. 1/4 tsp cardamom powder

Instructions for making carrot halwa:

  1. Wash, peel and grate the carrotspeeling and grating carrot for carrot halwa
  2. Take a pressure cooker and put carrot and milk.pressure cooker for making carrot halwa
  3. Close the lid and make one or two whistles. This makes the halwa making process easy and fast.cooking carrot for carrot halwa
  4. Transfer the cooked carrot and milk into a thick bottomed vessel.cooked carrot in a vessel for carrot halwa
  5. Allow it to boil on high flame stirring continuously. This step will take hardly 5 minutes.boil carrot and milk for carrot halwa
  6. When the milk is reduced to half, reduce the flame, add sugar and continue boiling by stirring it occasionally.sugar for carrot halwa
  7. Parallelly take 2 table spoon ghee in a small pan and fry cashews and raisins.ghee for carrot halwa
  8. When the halwa is almost dry, add fried cashews and raisins along with the ghee and cardamom powder.cashew and raisins for carrot halwa
  9. Mix well for few minutes and switch off the stove. Serve it hot or cold.making carrot halwa
