Banana chips or balekai chips recipe explained with step by step pictures. This is a plain salted banana chips prepared using raw banana, salt and turmeric powder. Banana chips or balekayi chips is very easry to prepare and is very tasty.
This type of yellow banana chips is popular as "Kerala banana chips" but it is also popular in Karavali and Malnad region of Karnataka. In Karnataka apart from this yellow or plain salted banana chips, red chili spiced and pepper spiced banana chips are also in practice. They are the spicy version of banana chips, which I will share with ypu all soon. This is my first post using "raw banana", however you can find "banana halwa recipe" on our website, which is prepared using ripened banana.
Banana chips is familiar by name "balekayi chips" in Karnataka. Where balekai or balekayi translates to "raw banana" in Kannada language. This banana chips is a very simple recipe with very minimum ingredients. And home made snacks are healthy and safe as compared to store bought ones. I have also shared crispy potato chips recipe on this website. So prepare theses easy and simple chips at home and enjoy.
