Aloo rava fingers or snacks recipe explained with step by step pictures and video. Aloo sooji fingers are prepared using rava, cooked potato, coriander leaves, ginger, green chilli and salt. Preparing crispy aloo rava fingers or potato sooji snacks is very easy and is very tasty. Aloo rava fingers is a kids friendly.

My son loves this a lot. He likes french fries and potato chips too. However preparing crispy french fries and potato chips a bit tricky. Crispy ness depends on several aspects. Aloo rava fingers recipe

Preparation time: 20 min
Cooking time: 10 min
Serves: 2

Ingredients: (measuring cup used = 240ml)

  1. 2 medium sized potatoes (boiled and peeled)
  2. 1/4 cup medium rava or upma rava
  3. 2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
  4. 1/2 tsp chopped ginger
  5. 1 green chilli finely chopped
  6. 1/4 tsp cumin powder
  7. 1/2 tsp salt (or as per your taste)
  8. 1/4 cup water
  9. Oil for deep frying

Instructions for making aloo rava fingers:

  1. Boil 1/4 cup of water along with 1 tsp of oil.boiling water for aloo rava fingers or potato sooji snacks
  2. Add in rava. Give a quick stir and switch off the stove.rava for aloo rava fingers or potato sooji snacks
  3. Add in boiled and peeled potatoes. I have used 2 medium sized potatoes.boiled potatoes for aloo rava fingers or potato sooji snacks
  4. Add in coriander leaves.coriander leaves for aloo rava fingers or potato sooji snacks
  5. Add in finely chopped ginger and green chillies.ginger and green chillies for aloo rava fingers or potato sooji snacks
  6. Also add in 1/4 tsp cumin powder.cumin powder for aloo rava fingers or potato sooji snacks
  7. Lastly add in salt as per your taste. I have added around 1/2 tsp of salt.salt for aloo rava fingers or potato sooji snacks
  8. Mash the potatoes.mashing potato for aloo rava fingers or potato sooji snacks
  9. And mix everything together into a lump free dough.dough for aloo rava fingers or potato sooji snacks
  10. Grease your fingers. Take a small portion of dough and prepare the sticks.making potato sticks for aloo rava fingers or potato sooji snacks
  11. Now heat the oil in a deep frying pan and drop the potato sticks in to the hot oil.frying aloo rava fingers or potato sooji snacks
  12. Flip and fry them under high-medium flame. When the bubbles reduces or the colour changes slightly, take them out. Continue frying rest of the sticks. Serve the fried aloo rava fingers with tomato sauce.frying aloo rava fingers or potato sooji snacks
