Instructions for making soft jamun using ready mix:

  1. To begin with cut open the ready mix packet. Measure and take the jamun ready mix using a small cup. Put it in a wide bowl or plate. The first trick lies here. You need to measure and take the jamun mix as well as water before proceeding.ready mix or instant mix for soft gulab jamun
  2. Now measure and take 1/4th measure of water using the same cup. Like I measured the ready mix it was little less than 2 cups so I took little less than 1/2 cup of water. Now sprinkle the water little by little and prepare very loose and soft dough. The second trick and most important trick is mixing the dough. Please refer this video. You need to be very gentle while kneading. Use your fingers and just make the loose dough. Do not knead it like chapthi dough. After that cover and keep it aside for 5 minutes.Loose and soft dough for soft gulab jamun using instant or ready mix.
  3. Now let us prepare sugar syrup. I measured and took 2 cups of sugar, equal amount of water and cardamom powder. And kept it for boiling.sugar syrup using water, sugar and cardamom powder for soft gulab jamun
  4. Once it starts boiling allow it to boil for 6 - 7 minutes under medium flame. Switch off the stove.boiling sugar syrup for soft gulab jamun using ready mix

  9. Now drop few gulab jamun balls and start frying under medium flame. Please note the flame should not be more or less. If it is more then the jamuns wil become dark immediately and will not cook properly. So you will left out with white portion in the middle. Same time if the flame is too low then the jamuns will start crackling here and there.deep frying gulab jamuns prepared using ready mix
