Paneer bhurji recipe explained with step by step pictures and a video. This is a very easy and tasty recipe prepared using paneer. Home made paneer recipe also shown here along with paneer bhurji recipe. Paneer bhurji is prepared using crumbles paneer, onion, tomato, garlic, ginger, cumin, oil, salt, red chilli powder and garam masala powder.

Paneer bhurji recipe

Preparation time: 10 min
Cooking time: 30 min
Serves: 4

Ingredients for paneer: (measuring cup used = 240ml)

  1. 1 litre milk
  2. 1 tbsp lemon juice or vinegar or 1/4 cup sour curd

Ingredients for bhurji: (measuring cup used = 240ml)

  1. 1 cup or 200 gm crumbled paneer
  2. 1 large onion
  3. 2 large tomatoes
  4. 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  5. 3 - 4 garlic
  6. 2 cm length ginger
  7. 1 - 2 slit green chilies (optional)
  8. A pinch of turmeric powder
  9. 1/2 - 1 red chilli powder
  10. 1/2 tsp garam masala
  11. 1 tbsp kasuri methi (optional)
  12. 1 tbsp coriander leaves
  13. 2 tbsp cooking oil
  14. Salt as per your taste

Instructions for making paneer bhurji:

  1. Keep 1 litre of milk for boiling. If you have store bought paneer, proceed with step no 3.boiling milk for paneer bhurji recipe
  2. When the milk starts boiling, reduce the flame. Add in either lemon juice or vinegar or sour curd.Adding vinegar for paneer bhurji recipe
  3. Stir and wait until the milk curdles. Immediately switch off the stove.curdles milk for paneer bhurji recipe
  4. Immediately strain it using a cotton cloth. Pour some cold water from top to make the paneer soft. Keep it aside.straining curdled milk for paneer bhurji recipe
  5. In a pan, heat 2 tbsp oil. Add in 1/2 tsp cumin seeds.oil and cumin seeds for paneer bhurji recipe
  6. When the cumin turns brown, add in finely chopped onion. Fry the onion for a while.onion for paneer bhurji recipe
  7. Add in ginger-garlic paste or finely chopped ginger and garlic. You can also add finely chopped green chillies for extra spiciness. I did't add. Fry until onions are soft and translucent.ginger garlic for paneer bhurji recipe
  8. Next add in finely chopped tomatoes, a pinch of turmeric and salt. Fry and cook until tomatoes turn mushy. You can add little water.tomatoes for paneer bhurji recipe
  9. Add in red chilli powder and garam masala. Give a quick mix.red chilli powder and garam masala for paneer bhurji recipe
  10. Followed by add in crumbled paneer and crushed kasuri methi (optional). Give a quick mix and cook for a minute or 2. Add in water as per your desired consistency. Also adjust the salt level.paneer and kasuri methi for paneer bhurji recipe
  11. At the end add in coriander leaves. Give a quick mix and switch off the stove. Serve it with chapathi or bread.coriander leaves for paneer bhurji recipe
