Hesaru kaalu juice or green gram juice recipe explained with step by step pictures and a video. This is a very healthy and tasty juice recipe prepared using green gram, coconut, jaggery and cardamom. This juice is a super coolant and is very helpful for the scorching summer.

I have added powdered jaggery and crushed cardamom after grinding, which you can add while grinding itself. Also adjust the jaggery level as per your taste. I have added 3 cups of water altogether. How ever you can add more water and make this juice more dilute.

Hesaru kaalu juice recipe

Preparation time: 10 min
Cooking time: 5 min
Serves: 3 cups

Ingredients: (measuring cup used = 240ml)

  1. 1/2 cup green gram or hesaru kaalu
  2. 1/4 cup fresh grated coconut
  3. 1/2 cup jaggery (adjust as per your taste)
  4. Around 3 cups of water (including grinding)
  5. 2 cardamom

Instructions for making hesaru kaalu juice or moong bean juice:

  1. To begin with take 1/2 cup of green gram in a frying pan and start roasting it under medium flame..roasting green gram for hesaru kaalu juice or green gram juice
  2. Roast it until raw smell is gone or until you get nice aroma.roasted green gram for hesaru kaalu juice or green gram juice
  3. Wait until cool. Grind it into a fine powder using a mixer grinder.grinding green gram for hesaru kaalu juice or green gram juice
  4. Next add in grated fresh coconut. Grind it again until fine by adding required water.coconut for hesaru kaalu juice or green gram juice
  5. Transfer it into a container.groung green gram for hesaru kaalu juice or green gram juice
  6. Add in required water. Please note, altogether I have used 3 cups of water.cashew and badam for hesaru kaalu juice or green gram juice
  7. Add in a jaggery and give a quick mix. Wait until jaggery is dissolved. You can adjust the amount of jaggery as per your taste.jaggery for hesaru kaalu juice or green gram juice
  8. At the end add in crushed cardamom powder and give a quick mix. Optionally you can filter the juice. I don't filter it.cardamom for hesaru kaalu juice or green gram juice
  9. Refrigerate it (optional) and serve it. You can store it for few days in the fridge and consume it as and when required.serving hesaru kaalu juice or green gram juice
