Halasina beejada palya or jackfruit seeds stir fry

Preparation time: 5 min
Cooking time: 20 min
Serves: 2

Ingredients: (measuring cup used = 240ml)

  1. One bowl jackfruit seeds or halasina beeja
  2. 1 big onion
  3. 1/2 tsp chopped ginger
  4. 4 - 6 tsp cooking oil
  5. 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  6. 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  7. A big pinch of turmeric powder
  8. A big pinch of asafoetida
  9. 1 - 2 green chilies
  10. 4-5 curry leaves
  11. Salt as per your taste
  12. 2 tbsp grated coconut
  13. 1 tbsp finely chopped coriander leaves

Instructions for making genasina palya or jackfruit seeds stir fry:

  1. To begin with slightly crush the jackfruit seeds and remove the outer thin cover. Please note, peeling is easy if the seeds are dry.deskinned jackfruit seeds for halasina beejada palya or jackfruit seeds stir fry

  4. Next take oil in a frying pan and heat it. Add in 1/2 tsp mustard seeds and 1/2 tsp cumin seeds. Optionally you can add broken red chili and urad dal.tempering for halasina beejada palya or jackfruit seeds stir fry
