Cabbage dosa or cabbage dose or elekosu dose recipe explained with step by step pictures. This is a very tasty and healthy breakfast recipe. Cabbage dose or cabbage dosa is an instant dosa prepared using cabbage, onion, rice, red chili, coconut, coriander, cumin, jaggery and tamarind.

Cabbage dose recipe

Preparation time: 5 hrs
Cooking time: 30 min
Serves: 3

Ingredients: (measuring cup used = 240ml)

  1. 1 cup dosa rice
  2. 1 cup chopped cabbage or elekosu
  3. 1 medium sized onion
  4. 1/4 cup grated coconut
  5. 1 tsp coriander seeds
  6. 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  7. 2 red chilies
  8. A small marble sized tamarind
  9. 1 tsp jaggery (optional)
  10. Salt as per your taste
  11. 4 tsp cooking oil or ghee.

Instructions for making cabbage dose:

  1. To make cabbage dosa first wash and soak the rice in water for at least 4-5 hours.soak the rice for cabbage dosa or cabbage dose
  2. After soaking, drain the water and transfer the rice into a mixie jar. Next add in red chili, grated coconut, coriander seeds, cumin seeds, jaggery and tamarind. Use required water and grind until smooth. grind the rice for cabbage dosa or cabbage dose
  3. Transfer it to a container. Add in required water. The batter shall be of thin milkshake consistency.watery batter for cabbage dosa or cabbage dose
  4. Finely chop the cabbage. Finely chopping is very important for proper cooking.finely chopped cabbage for cabbage dosa or cabbage dose

  8. Heat the pan. Pour a laddle full of batter. Slightly spread it and prepare dosa. I made small small dosas.smear oil for making cabbage dosa or cabbage dose
  9. Close the lid and allow it to cook under medium flame. Open the lid, drizzle some oil or ghee.making cabbage dosa or cabbage dose
