Mixed dal or lentils dosa or bele dose recipe explained with step by step pictures and a video. This mixed dal (lentils) dosa or bele dose is very tasty and healthy. This dosa is also popular by name pancharatna dosa because 5 types of dal or lentils are used. So this dosa is very good for growing kids.

This dosa recipe is from my friend Manjula. She is very innovative in her cooking and she is a great cook. So in the future I will be sharing many of her recipes here. Mixed dal or lentils dosa is a quick dosa recipe as there is no fermentation required. But however if you have time you can ferment it for few hours for better result.

    Mixed dal or lentils or bele dose recipe

    Preparation time: 4 - 5 hrs
    Cooking time: 30 min
    Serves: 3

    Ingredients: (measuring cup used = 240ml)

    1. 1/2 cup dosa rice
    2. 2 tbsp toor dal
    3. 2 tbsp channa dal or gram dal
    4. 2 tbsp moong dal or green gram dal
    5. 2 tbsp urad dal
    6. 2 tbsp masoor dal
    7. 1/2 " length ginger
    8. 1 - 2 green chili or red chillies
    9. 1/2 tsp jeera or cumin seeds
    10. Little coriander leaves or 1 tsp coriander seeds
    11. Salt as per your taste

    Instructions for making Mixed dal or lentils or bele dose:

    1. Rinse and soak rice and dals (lentils) for 4 - 5 hours.Soak rice and lentils for dal dosa or bele dose
    2. After soaking, drain the water and grind until smooth using required water.grind rice and lentils for dal dosa or bele dose
    3. At the end add in ginger, green chili, cumin seeds and coriander leaves and grind again until smooth. You can replace green chilli with red chilli and coriander leaves with coriander seeds like how I have shown in the video.spices for dal dosa or bele dose or pancharatna dosa
    4. The batter should be slightly thinner than the regular urad dosa batter. Add in salt and mix. You can add chopped curry leaves or coriander leaves. Optionally you can ferment the batter as well for few hours. This dosa tastes good either way.batter for dal dosa or bele dose or pancharatna dosa
    5. Heat the pan, pour the batter and make thin dosas. Drizzle oil or ghee from top.making dal dosa or bele dose or pancharatna dosa
    6. Fold and take out the dosas once they are cooked.dal dosa or bele dose or pancharatna dosa on pan
    7. And if you ferment it for few hours then the dosa texture will be different, they the dosa will turn soft. I like both with and without fermenting. You decide depending on your taste.dal dosa or bele dose or pancharatna dosa after fermenting
