Vangibath powder or vangibath masala powder recipe explained with step by step pictures. This powder is used in the preparation of vangi bath, a popular break breakfast recipe. Vangi bath powder is also used in preparing khara bath and palya (curry). So this powder is also known as "palyada pudi". You can also use this powder in various ricebath recipes like gorikai ricebath, cabbage ricebath, menthe soppu ricebath and no-onion tomato ricebath recipes.
Preparing home made vangi bath powder or palyada pudi is very easy. The key note to prepare an ultimate vangi bath powder is to roast all the ingredients under medium flame, without burning them. Red chili, gram dal, urad dal, coriander seeds, dry coconut, cinnamon, star anise and cloves are roasted and grind into fine powder. I have also used 1 cardamom and poppy seeds, which are optional ingredients.
This Karnatka style vangibath masala powder is also familiar by name palyada pudi (curry powder) as it is used in different palya or curry recipes. You can find one tasty mixed vegetable palya or curry recipe on this website, which makes use of this masala powder.
I prefer home made masala powders and I have already posted udupi rasam powder, bisi bele bath powder, Mysore rasam powder, sambar powder and puliyogare powder recipes. Now let us get on to the recipe of Karnataka style vangibath powder recipe.
