Rave ottu shavige or rava shavige recipe explained with step by step pictures and video. Rave ottu shavige or rava noodles is prepared using rave, salt and water. Rave ottu shavige or rava idiyappam is a breakfast recipe and is popular by different names like semettu, shamige, shyavige, idiyappam and nool puttu. Rave ottu shavige is a very easy and instant noodles recipe.
You can also find the regular akki ottu shavige or rice noodles recipe here. Here in this rava shavige recipe, I have used medium rava or upma rava. But if you have fine rava, I would suggest you to use fine rava only. To begin with the rava is cooked, kneaded, dumplings are prepared, pressed using the noodles mould and then steamed for few minutes. This rava shavige is a quick breakfast recipe and you can prepare it in just 20 minutes. Especially when you are bored with uppittu (or upma), this rave shavige or rava idiyappam is an ideal choice.
These rave shavige or rava idiyappam are best served with either chitranna bajji (a sweet chutney) or coconut chutney or can be tempered like chitranna.
