Hurigadale tambittu recipe

Preparation time: 10 min
Cooking time: 10 min
Serves: 12 no

Ingredients: (measuring cup used = 240ml)

  1. 1 cup roasted gram or hurigadale
  2. 1/2 cup dry or dessicated coconut
  3. 1/2 - 3/4 cup jaggery (I used 1/2 cup)
  4. 1/4 cup ghee (Extra 2 tbsp if required)
  5. 1 tsp poppy seeds or gasagase
  6. 2 cardamom

Instructions for making hurigadale tambittu:

  1. Take roasted gram and cardamom in a mixie jar.roasted gram for hurigadale tambittu or thambittu
  2. And dry grind it until fine powder.roasted gram powder for hurigadale tambittu or thambittu
  3. Heat a frying pan and dry roast the poppy seeds (gasagase) for few minutes and set it aside.poppy seeds for hurigadale tambittu or thambittu
  4. Next in the same frying pan roast the dessicated or dry coconut until crispy.coconut for hurigadale tambittu or thambittu
  5. Wait until cool and transfer it into a mixie jar.coconut for hurigadale tambittu or thambittu
  6. Coarse grind it.coconut for hurigadale tambittu or thambittu
  7. Now in a frying pan take 1/4 cup of ghee.ghee for hurigadale tambittu or thambittu
  8. Add in powdered jaggery. I have used 1/2 cup of jaggery. If you like more sweet, then add 3/4 cup.jaggery for hurigadale tambittu or thambittu
  9. Stir until jaggery dissolves and bubbles under medium flame.ghee and jaggery for hurigadale tambittu or thambittu
  10. Add in ground coconut.coconut for hurigadale tambittu or thambittu
  11. Add in poppy seeds and give a quick mix.poppy seeds for hurigadale tambittu or thambittu
  12. Next add in roasted gram powder and switch off the stove.gram powder for hurigadale tambittu or thambittu
  13. Give a quick mix and wait until excess heat is reduced.dough for hurigadale tambittu or thambittu
  14. Add in ghee if you find it very dry. Mix it well and start making the tambittu or ladoos.making hurigadale tambittu or thambittu
  15. Finish making all tambittu or ladoos. Store them in an airtight container.hurigadale tambittu or thambittu
