Mishra belegala paddu or mixed dal appe is prepared using rice, moong dal, urad dal, toor dal, gram dal, masoor dal, beaten rice, ginger, red chilli, coriander seeds, cumin seeds, onion, curry leaves and coriander leaves. Mixed dal appa or paniyaram is a very tasty, protein rich breakfast recipe. You can serve guliyappa or paddu with plain chutney.
Here the batter is prepared using rice and different types of dals. If you don't have any one or two types of dal, then you can replace it with moong dal or urad dal. If you are looking for normal paddu recipe, click on it. Or if you like the taste and flavor of sabsige soppu or dill leaves then you must read this sabsige soppu paddu recipe. I have also posted one sabbakki paddu recipe and sweet appa or banana paddu recipe.
To prepare guliyappa, a different type of pan with pits is used, which is also familiar by name appe pan. "guli" translates to "pits" in Kannada language so is the name guliyappa or guliappa. This is a kids friendly recipe and a perfect recipe for the snacks or lunch box. This is a very tasty paddu or paniyaram or gundponglu recipe.
