Ragi malt or ragi health drink recipe explained with step by step pictures and video. Ragi malt or health drink or ragi porridge is prepared using finger millet flour, jaggery and milk. Use 2 tbsp ragi flour if you want to prepare thin ragi malt and use 3 tbsp if you want to prepare thick ragi malt. Adjust the jaggery as per your taste. You can skip the jaggery if you are diabetic. You can substitute jaggery with any other sweetner like sugar, palm sugar dry fruits etc., Optionally you can top the ragi malt with chopped nuts, cardamom powder and little ghee.

Ragi malt or health drink recipe

Preparation time: 5 min
Cooking time: 10 min
Serves: 2

Ingredients: (measuring cup used = 240ml)

  1. 2 - 3 tbsp ragi or finger millet flour
  2. 3 tbsp jaggery (adjust as per your taste)
  3. 1 cup water
  4. 1 cup milk
  5. A pinch of cardamom powder (optional)
  6. chopped nuts (optional)
  7. Little ghee (optional)

Instructions for making ragi malt or health drink recipe:

  1. Take ragi (finger millet) flour and jaggery in a container. Take 2 tbsp if you want to prepare thin ragi malt and 3 tbsp if you want to prepare thick ragi malt.   2. Add in a cup of water. Mix well and make sure that there are no lumps.water for ragi malt or health drink
  3. Switch on the stove and bring it to boil by stirring frequently. Continue boiling until it turns thick and glossy.boiling ragi malt or health drink
