Brahmi or thimare chutney recipe explained wit step by step pictures and a video. Brahmi or Ondelaga or Thimare is more of a medicinal plant or herb and is well known for its various health benefits. There are few recipes in practice using Brahmi leaves and here is a simple chutney recipe, which you can follow easily and its tasty too. I have posted another tambli or raita recipe using brahmi leaves, which is also very simple and tasty.
According to ayurveda, Brahmi is very beneficial in the treatment of anxiety neurosis and mental fatigue. Brahmi improves IQ levels, general ability, behavioral patterns and mental concentration in children. Brahmi is useful for improving mental clarity, confidence and memory recall. Brahmi is also used for the treatment of epilepsy, insomnia, asthma and rheumatism. Brahmi is effective against diseases like bronchitis, asthma, hoarseness, arthritis, rheumatism, backache, constipation, hair loss, fevers, digestive problems etc. Research has shown that Brahmi has Antioxidant, Cardiotonic and Anticancer properties. The plant is also used for all sorts of skin problems. Study says that it improves intellect, consciousness, calms the mind and promotes relaxation.
