Panchakajjaya recipe explained with step by step pictures and video. Panchakajjaya is prepared using gram dal, sugar, coconut, ghee and sesame seeds or cashews. Panchakajjaya is offered as naivedyam for Lord Ganesha. This very easy and tasty naivedyam recipe is generally prepared during ganesha festival.
There are so many types and versions of panchakajjaya. The basic idea is to have 5 ingredients. I am expaling two types here. One is my mothers version and the second one is my mother-in-law's. Hindus believe that the "Lord Ganesha" likes to eat varieties of sweets and savories like chakkuli, kayi kadubu, kari kadubu, modaka, panchakajjaya, varieties of laddus and sundals (usli).
I have posted many Karnataka style sweet recipes like halu bai, thambittu, roasted gram laddu, carrot halwa, rava kesari bath, banana halwa, coconut burfi and badam puri recipes.
I have made a quick video on this panchakajjaya recipe with Kannada narration, which I have embedded it below. Kindly have a look.
