Southekayi rotti or bakri is prepared using grated cucucmber, medium rava, coconut, green chili, coriander leaves, salt and sugar.

Southekayi rotti recipe

Preparation time: 13 hours
Cooking time: 30 min
Serves: 2

Ingredients: (measuring cup used = 240ml)

  1. 1 cup grated cucumber
  2. 1/2 cup medium rava or fine rava
  3. 1/4 cup grated coconut
  4. 1 green chlli chopped
  5. A small handful coriander leaves
  6. 1 tsp sugar (adjust as per your taste)
  7. Ghee or oil for cooking
  8. 1/2 tsp salt (or as per your taste)

Instructions for making soutekayi rotti or cucumber bakri:

  1. Take grated cucumber and rava in a container.rice and dal for soutekayi rotti or cucumber bakri
  2. Add in chopped green chili.rice and dal for soutekayi rotti or cucumber bakri
  3. Add in grated coconut.grinding rice and dal for soutekayi rotti or cucumber bakri
  4. Add in chopped coriander leaves.grinding rice and dal for soutekayi rotti or cucumber bakri
  5. Next add in salt and sugar. Adjust the salt and sugar leavel as per your taste.beaten rice for soutekayi rotti or cucumber bakri
  6. Squeeze and mix the batter well.batter for soutekayi rotti or cucumber bakri
  7. Prepare a loose dough by adding required water. Rest it for 10 minutesfermenting batter for soutekayi rotti or cucumber bakri
  8. Heat the dosa pan and grease it with oil. Reduce the flame, drop a big lemon sized batter and spread it quickly using the fingers. You can wet your fingers in between.making soutekayi rotti or cucumber bakri
  9. Increase the flame. Drizzle some oil and cook the rotti or bakri. These bakris will be small in size.close the lid and cook soutekayi rotti or cucumber bakri
  10. Flip and cook on other side too.oil for soutekayi rotti or cucumber bakri
  11. Take out the rotti or bakri and serve it with coconut chutney and ghee.cook soutekayi rotti or cucumber bakri
