Peanut butter recipe explained with step by step pictures and a video. Peanut butter is prepared using roasted ground nuts, pinch of salt, little oil and little honey. This is a homemade peanut butter recipe. Peanut butter is prepared using Shenga or Kadlekai or nelagadale.

Peanut butter is very high in protein and good fat. It's a super food for growing children. However it is advised to consume peanut butter in moderation. You can eat 2 - 3 spoons of peanut butter in a day. You can find many shenga recipes on this website like shenga hindi or peanut chutney powder, shenga holige, salted shenga or peanut, shenga unde or peanut laddu, ellu-bella, hurigalu, congress kadlekai, masala peanuts etc.,

You can use this peanut butter as a spread along with bread or chapathi or dosa. You can use this peanut butter in sandwiches too. I like it with bread.

Peanut butter recipe

Preparation time: 10 min
Cooking time: 15 min
Serves: 1/2 cup

Ingredients: (measuring cup used = 240ml)

  1. 1 cup peanut or shenga
  2. Big pinch of salt
  3. 1 tsp coconut oil (optional; can be replaced with any other oil
  4. 1 tsp honey (optional)

Instructions for making peanut butter:

  1. Take 1 cup of peanuts or shenga or kadlekai in a thick bottomed pan.groundnuts for peanut butter recipe

  3. Wait until warm. Rub and deskin them.deskin peanuts for peanut butter recipe
  4. Remove the peels. Make sure the peanuts are roasted well. You can use store bought roasted peanuts as well.deskinned peanuts for peanut butter recipe
  5. Transfer the deskinned peanuts into a mixie jar.peanuts in mixie jar for peanut butter recipe
  6. Grind them for a while until you get coarse powder.salt for peanut butter recipe
  7. Scrape the sides and bring everything together. Add in salt.making peanut butter recipe
  8. Add in coconut oil. Please note, adding oil is optional. You can skip it or replace it with any other oil.cooking peanut butter recipe

  12. Take the peanut butter out and store it in an airtight container. You can store it for a month under normal temperature. And refrigerate it upto 3 months.peanut butter recipe
