How to make thick curd in just 1 hour is explained with step by step pictures and a video. Using this method you can prepare thick curd in just 1 hour or 2 hours easily. This is a homemade thick curd recipe. Regular pasteurised cow's milk is used to prepare thick curd.

This recipe this method to prepare curd is very helpful. Sometimes you may need to prepare curd in less time. So use this way to prepare curd in very less time.

This method works and I have tried it many times. But you need to keep some points in mind. The firt point is, milk should be little hotter than warm, second point is mix it well after adding curd, third one is keep it in the hot water using a stand, fourth one is no need to keep the stove ON and the last one is just heat the water and switch OFF the stove. Thick curd in less time recipe

Preparation time: 2 hours
Cooking time: 15 min
Serves: 1/2 litre

Ingredients: (measuring cup used = 240ml)

  1. 500ml milk
  2. 5 - 6 tbsp of curd

Instructions for making thick curd in less time:

  1. Take normal cow's milk. I have taken pasteurised cow's milk having 3.5g milk fat.milk for thick curd in 1 hour
  2. Bring the milk to a boil. If the milk is watery continue boiling for few minutes under low flame.boiling milk for thick curd in 1 hour
  3. Wait until exces heat is reduced. It should be little hotter than warm. Add in 5 - 6 tbsp of curd.curd for thick curd in 1 hour
  4. Mix it very well by either pouring it into another container or whisking it.Mixing milk and curd for thick curd in 1 hour
  5. Transfer the milk into the containers in which you want to set the curd.milk in small containers for thick curd in 1 hour
  6. Next in the first method, just warm a container by holding it up the flame for few seconds. Make sure the container is just warm not super hot.warmong the container for thick curd in 1 hour
  7. Place the container with milk.keeping the milk container for thick curd in 1 hour
  8. Close the lid and close the container lid too. Rest it for around 2 hours and the curd will be ready.keeping the milk container for thick curd in 1 hour
  9. In the second method, heat little water in a pressure cooker or any other container.heating the water for thick curd in 1 hour
  10. Switch off the stove and place the stand.hot water in cooker for thick curd in 1 hour
  11. Over the stand place the milk container.making thick curd in 1 hour
  12. Close the lid.making thick curd in 1 hour
  13. Close the cooker or container lid too. Please note stove should in OFF condition.making thick curd in less time
  14. With this method thick curd will be ready in just 5 minutes.thick curd in 1 hour
  15. Using the first method, curd was almost set in 2 hours. The time may vary depending on the milk temperature, amount of curd used, climate etc.,thick curd in 2 hours

Below are some important points to be noted:

  1. Milk should be little hotter than warm
  2. Mix it well after adding curd
  3. Keep it in the hot water using a stand
  4. No need to keep the stove ON
  5. Just heat the water and switch OFF the stove
