Home made jelly recipe explained with step by step instructions and a video. Home made jelly is prepared using ready made jelly making pack weikfield. 8 year old boy making jelly under adult supervision. This is a great way to introduce cooking to the kids.

This is a special video posted to encourage kids to cook. Bringing kids into the kitchen can benefit them in number of ways. Learning a new skill is always good. Learning cooking can boost the self-confidence of a child. Here my Son Shreevathsa has prepared jelly using ready made jelly crystals pack. I have posted many kids friendly recipes on this website. Home made jelly recipe

Preparation time: 30 min
Cooking time: 5 min
Serves: 1.5 cup

Ingredients: (measuring cup used = 240ml)

  1. 1 pack jelly crystals (I used weikfield)
  2. 1/2 ltr water or as mentioned on the pack

Instructions for making home made jelly:

  1. Open the pack and pour the powders into a container. There will be jelly crystals and a sachet inside the pack. You can get different flavours and you can choose any flavour of your choice.
  2. Next give a quick mix.
  3. Meanwhile boil 1/2 ltr of water in another container.
  4. After boiling switch off the stove.
  5. After a minute pour the hot water into the container, which has powders and stir well.
  6. Stir until all the crystals are dissolved completely.
  7. Wait until warm and then pour it into the mould or small containers of your choice.
  8. Allow the jelly to set in the room temperature. Or keep it in the fridge for quick and better result.
  9. Once the jelly is set, take it out, slice it, eat and enjoy. You can eat it as it is..or use it in your icecream or milkshake.
