Girmit is a tea time snacks or street food in Hubli dharwad region of Karnataka. Learn how to make North Karnataka churumuri or mandakki recipe. This chat or snacks recipe is extremely popular in Hubli-dharwad region of Karnataka.
In this girmit recipe a curry or gojju is prepared using onion, tomato and tamarind. Then it is mixed with puffed rice and garnished to prepare tasty girmit. Actually there are two versions of girmit. One is dry or sukha girmit and the other one is this. This girmit is more popular and it will not be crispy. In north Karnataka puffed rice or mandakki is used in many recipes. Soon I will share many more recipes from North Karnataka using puffed rice. This recipe is from my friend Anupama, who currently lives in Hubli.
Actually in North Karnataka, there are so many varieties of Mandakki or churumuri recipes. The recipe varies from region to region and house to house.
