Sorekai dose or bottle gourd dosa is prepared using soaked rice, moong dal, bottle gourd, green chilli, ginger and coriander leaves. It can be served with coconut chutney or can be eaten as it is.

Sorekai or bottle gourd dosa is a very tasty and instant dosa recipe. No need to ferment the batter. Just soak the rice, grind and prepare the dosa. It is always good to include vegetables in our diet to keep up the good health. Not only health benefits...this dosa tastes too good. You can prepare this for breakfast or as an evening snacks.

Preparation time: 3 hours
Cooking time: 20 min
Serves: 3

Ingredients: (measuring cup used = 240ml)

  1. 1 cup dosa rice
  2. 1/4 cup hesaru bele or moong dal
  3. 1 cup bottle gourd
  4. 2 green chillies
  5. 1cm length ginger
  6. Some coriander leaves
  7. Ghee or oil for cooking
  8. Salt as per your taste

Instructions for making sorekai dose:

  1. Soak rice and dal for 4 hours.rice and dal for sorekai dose or bottle gourd dosa recipe
  2. Peel and chop the bottle gourd.bottle gourd for sorekai dose or bottle gourd dosa recipe
  3. Take the soaked rice and dal in a mixie jar.soaked rice and dal for sorekai dose or bottle gourd dosa recipe
  4. Add in green chillies and ginger.green chillies and ginger for sorekai dose or bottle gourd dosa recipe
  5. Also add in coriander leaves.coriander leaves for sorekai dose or bottle gourd dosa recipe
  6. Followed by add in chopped bottle gourd.chopped bottle gourd for sorekai dose or bottle gourd dosa recipe
  7. Grind it into a fine batter by adding required water. Transfer the batter into a container.batter for sorekai dose or bottle gourd dosa recipe
  8. Add the salt as per taste.salt for sorekai dose or bottle gourd dosa recipe
  9. Now heat the dosa pan. Pour a laddle full of batter and spread it thin in a circular way.making sorekai dose or bottle gourd dosa recipe
  10. Close the lid for 5 - 10 seconds. Allow it to cook under medium flame.cooking sorekai dose or bottle gourd dosa recipe
  11. Open the lid and drizzle some ghee. Allow it to cook for few seconds under low flame. This makes the dosa more crispy.ghee for sorekai dose or bottle gourd dosa recipe
