Cucumber dosa or southekai dose recipe explained with step by step pictures and video. This southekayi dose or cuucmber rava dosa is an instant, crispy and tasty breakfast recipe. Southekai dose or dosa is prepared using medium rava, cucumber, coconut, red chilli, coriander seeds and cumin seeds. It can be prepared in just 15 minutes and can be served with coconut chutney or can be eaten as it is.

Southekai or cucumber dosa is a very tasty and instant dosa recipe. No need to ferment the batter. Just soak the rava, grind and prepare the dosa. It is always good to include vegetables in our diet to keep up the good health. Not only health benefits...this dosa tastes too good. You can prepare this for breakfast or as an evening snacks.

Preparation time: 3 hours
Cooking time: 20 min
Serves: 3

Ingredients: (measuring cup used = 240ml)

  1. 1 cup rava or sooji
  2. 2 medium sized cucumber
  3. 1/4 cup grated coconut
  4. 2 red chillies
  5. 1 tsp coriander seeds
  6. 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  7. Ghee or oil for cooking
  8. Salt as per your taste

Instructions for making southekai dose:

  1. Soak rava for 10 minutes using 1 cup of water. Drain the excess water, kindly refer to the video.soaking rava for southekai dose or cucumber dosa recipe

  3. Take the soaked rava in a mixie jar.soaked rava for southekai dose or cucumber dosa recipe

  5. Add in grated coconut and red chilli.grated coconut and red chilli for southekai dose or cucumber dosa recipe
  6. Also add in coriander seeds and cumin seeds.coriander and cumin for southekai dose or cucumber dosa recipe
  7. Grind until fine batter. You need not add any water. Transfer the batter into a container.batter for southekai dose or cucumber dosa recipe

  9. Mix the batter well. The batter shall have regular urad dosa batter consistency.batter for southekai dose or cucumber dosa recipe
  10. Now heat the dosa pan. Pour a laddle full of batter and spread it thin in a circular way.making southekai dose or cucumber dosa recipe
  11. Close the lid for 5 - 10 seconds. Allow it to cook under medium flame.cooking southekai dose or cucumber dosa recipe
  12. Open the lid and drizzle some ghee. Allow it to cook for few seconds under low flame. This makes the dosa more crispy.ghee for southekai dose or cucumber dosa recipe
