rave paddu or sooji appe

Rava paddu recipe explained with step by step pictures and a video. This rave guliyappa or sooji appe is a tasty instant breakfast recipe. Rava paniyaram or semolina gundpongalu is prepared using poha, rava, curd, coriander leaves, carrot, onion, green chili and curry leaves.

To prepare paddu or guliyappa, a different type of pan with pits is used. I have posted few recipes like normal paddu, bread paddu, cucumber paddu, sabakki or sabudana paddu, sabsige soppu paddu or dill leaves appe and sweet banana paddu recipes using the same pan.

This is an instant paddu recipe that can be prepared in minutes. I have used medium avalakki or poha in this recipe, which can be replaced with thick or thin poha. I have added 1/4 tsp eno fruit salt for extra softness. However you can replace it with cooking soda or just skip it.

You can prepare this for the breakfast or as a healthy evening snacks. And serve this with any chutney of your choice. If you are looking for more Karnataka style breakfast recipes then do visit our breakfast recipes section.
