Mango dal or mavinakayi dal recipe explained with step by step pictures and a video. Mavinakai dal is a very tasty recipe using raw mango, toor dal, green chillies, onion, garlic and a tempering. Raw mango dal or mamidikaya pappu tastes good with hot steaming rice. Mavinakai tovve or thove is very tasty.
This is a perfect recipe when you are running out of vegetables. Nevertheless it is very healthy, tasty and easy to prepare. Kids will enjoy this simple yet tasty dal. I have used garlic in this recipe which is completely optional and you can skip it.
