Aloo fry or potato side dish recipe explained with step by step pictures and video. This Alugadde fry or potato starter is a very tasty recipe. It can be served as a snacks or a side dish. Alugadde fry or potato fry is prepared using potato, garlic, mustard, curry leaves, salt and spice powders. This is a very simple and quick recipe.

Potato is a very tasty vegetable. Potato is very good for growing kids. I have added both garlic and asafoetida in this recipe, however you are free to skip the garlic.

Aloo fry or potato side dish

Preparation time: 5 min
Cooking time: 15 min
Serves: 2

Ingredients: (measuring cup used = 240ml)

  1. 2 large potatoes
  2. 7 - 8 cloves of garlic
  3. 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  4. A big pinch hing or asafoetida
  5. 5 - 6 curry leaves
  6. 1 tsp red chili powder
  7. 1/2 tsp cumin powder
  8. 1/4 tsp garam masala
  9. Big pinch of turmeric powder
  10. Salt as per your taste
  11. 2 tbsp cooking oil

Instructions for making aloo fry or potato side dish:

  1. To beginwith, peel the potatoes.peeled potatoes for Aloo fry or potato side dish

  3. Heat the oil in a frying pan. Add the mustard seeds, wait until splutter and then add the chopped garlic. Fry the garlic for a while.mustard and garlic for Aloo fry or potato side dish
