Instant 2 minute rasam recipe explained using step by step pictures and a video. This quick and easy rasam or saaru is prepared in very less time. This is a no-dal and no-rasam powder recipe. This rasa is prepared by grinding a fresh ground masala, tomato, tempering, salt, turmeric and coriander leaves.

This instant rasam is the easiest rasam I have ever prepared. Here we will be grinding all the ingredients like red chillies, green chilli, black pepper, cumin, tomato, garlic, coriander leaves and tamarind. The grinding reduces the chopping and cooking time. This easy rasam tastes like pepper rasam (menasina saaru), that is served in the restaurants.

Instant rasam recipe

Preparation time: 1 min
Cooking time: 5 min
Serves: 4

Ingredients: (measuring cup used = 240ml)

  1. 1/2 tomato
  2. 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  3. 7 - 8 curry leaves
  4. 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  5. 2 tbsp coriander leaves
  6. 1 tbsp cooking oil
  7. Salt as per your taste.

Ingredients for grinding: (measuring cup used = 240ml)

  1. 2 red chillies
  2. 1 green chilli
  3. 1 tsp black pepper
  4. 1 cumin seeds
  5. 1/2 tomato
  6. 7 - 8 cloves of garlic
  7. 1 tbsp coriander leaves
  8. 1 gooseberry sized tamarind

Instructions for making instant rasam:

  1. Take red chillies, green chilli, black pepper and cumin seeds in a mixie jar.chillies, pepper and cumin for instant easy rasam recipe

  3. Also add in coriander leaves and tamarind.tomato for instant easy rasam recipe
  4. Grind it into a paste by adding required water.salt for instant easy rasam recipe
  5. Heat oil in a pan. Add the mustard seeds and wait until mustard seeds splutter. Then add the curry leaves.tempering for instant easy rasam recipe
  6. Add and fry the tomatoes until soft and mushy.frying tomato for instant easy rasam recipe
  7. Add the ground paste.ground paste for instant easy rasam recipe
  8. Add in salt and turmeric powder. Fry and boil it for a minute.salt and turmeric for instant easy rasam recipe
  9. Add in required water. I have added 2 cups or half litre of water.water for instant easy rasam recipe
  10. Bring it to rolling boil and top it with coriander leaves. Switch off the stove.boiling instant easy rasam recipe
