Hesarubele kattu saaru or udupi style kat saru recipe explained with step by step pictures and a video. Kat saru is an Udupi style dal rasam prepared using moong dal (or toor dal), green chillies, ginger, lemon, curry leaves, tamarind and salt. Nimbe hannu saru or lemon rasam is very tasty, healthy and goes very well with rice.
This tangy hesaru bele kattu saaru or kat saru recipe is sour, a bit spicy, filled with lemon flavour and a very good appetizer. Especially when you are down with cold and fever...this rasam is very soothing and comforting. I have used moong dal or hesaru bele in this recipe, which can be replaced with toor dal as well.
