Bevu bella recipe explained here using a video. Bevu bella is very important while celebrating the ugadi festival. This Karnataka style bevu bella recipe is a tasty and easy way to prepare bevu bella and celebrate yugadi festival.
This bevu bella is prepared using roasted gram (putani or hurigadale), jaggery, badam, cashews, cardamom, neem flower and neem leaves. You can also try ugadi pachadi or yugadi pachadi for the festival. In ugadi pachadi every ingredient has its own significance. Tamarind signifies unpleasantness, jaggery signifies happiness, raw mango signifies surprise, pepper signifies fear, neem signifies sadness and salt signifies fear.
I am filing this recipe under ugadi or yugadi recipes. Try this pachadi or bevu bella for the yugadi festival and enjoy.
