Home made raisins or dry grapes recipe explained with step by step pictures and a video. Learn how to prepare raisins or dry grapes at home easily. You just need well-ripened sweet grapes and a steamer (idli maker) to prepare these tasty and soft raisins. With this method we can prepare onadrakshi at home at very less cost.
You get around 1/2 kg raisins from 1 kg fresh green grapes. I have not mentioned the quantity of grapes in this recipe. You can take any quantity of your choice.
Raisins made using round shaped grapes having thin peel will be more soft. And while steaming the grapes try to use a perforated plate (plate having holes) to avoid water collection. If you are preparing the raisins in large quantity, then you can steam them by tying them in a cotton cloth. However in that case, you may have to steam the grapes for little longer time.
Recipe is quite simple and very useful. You can prepare raisins or onadrakshi for very less money during the grapes season and use it all around the year.
